Two Weeks on the Road Together

The first two weeks that Shannon and I were together driving as a team are a complete blur. I know we drove 8,800 miles and we traveled from Missoula to Los Angeles to Florida to Kentucky to Georgia to Oregon and then home for Thanksgiving.

We not only had the challenge of trying to adjust to each other after being apart for the previous three months (we'd both gotten use to having things our own way, funny how that works!), but then...

1) I immediately got sick (Shannon thought it was probably a letdown from all the stress of the previous month in school),

2) I was putting things away in the back of the truck while Shannon was driving and he had to brake hard and I was not holding on and crashed into the dashboard -- thankfully the gearshift broke my fall by cracking a rib or two, and finally,

3) while putting in my contacts one morning I applied the cleaner instead of the rinse to my contact and proceeded to put my right contact in my eye soaked with the cleaner and succeeded in chemically burning my eye.

Other than those few incidents we had a non-eventful beginning to our new adventure!

Here are some pictures of moments during those two weeks that were a little less painful and what makes this kind of life appealing to those of us who have the wanderlust.
